Five ways to work with us. Take one, or all of them.
Not a sequence. Each is bought on its own with a published starting rate, and most clients combine two or three over time. Find the situation that is yours.
How every engagement is governed, secured and ended is on How we work.
Start here when

Discovery and assessment
You have an idea, a problem or a system and need to know what it would take

Delivery and iteration
You want software built or changed, by a team embedded with yours or run in-house

Hosting on Hexploits Cloud
Your cloud bill is too high and you want the same reliability for 10–30% less

Deployment and monitoring
You have something live and need someone to own it, on an SLA

Fractional CTO
You need technology leadership, not a team
In detail
One at a time: what it includes, where it starts, and who it is for.
Discovery and assessment
- Term
- 2–4 weeks
- From
- From £4,000, fixed price for the agreed scopeTBC
A fixed-price, fixed-length look at an idea, a process or an existing system, ending in a written report your board can act on: what it would take, what it would cost, and whether it is worth doing. Feasibility studies, technical assessments and due diligence all start here.
What it covers
Feasibility study
Can it be done, with what, for how much, and what would stop it. Written for the person signing the budget.
Technical assessment
The state of a system you already run or are about to buy: architecture, security, cost, and the risks nobody has written down.
Options, costs and a recommendation
Two or three routes with a fixed figure or capped estimate against each, and the one we would pick.
Best forBefore committing to a build, a migration or an AI initiative. Also the starting point for a security review, an EU AI Act assessment, or due diligence on a system you are buying.
Delivery and iteration
- Term
- Monthly retainer on 30 days’ notice, or fixed price per phase
- From
- From £480 per engineer per day on a retainer, or a fixed price per phaseTBC
Software built or changed by a team in one of two shapes: embedded inside your business, on your tools and in your meetings, or run in-house at Hexploits with your stakeholders joining the demos. Bring a specification or we write one with you. Either way you get a written report every week, a working demonstration every fortnight, and live progress against the KPIs agreed at the start.
Two shapes of team
Embedded in your business
Our engineers on your tools, in your meetings and in your stand-ups, alongside your own people.
In-house at Hexploits
Our team, your priorities. You join the fortnightly demo and receive the weekly report.
Two ways to pay
Monthly retainer
From £480 per engineer per day, invoiced monthly in arrears. Scale the team up or down on 30 days’ notice.
Fixed price per phase
A fixed figure or capped estimate against a defined scope and acceptance criteria. Ends at acceptance.
How you stay in control
A written report every week
Progress, spend against budget, decisions needed, risks. Readable in five minutes.
A working demonstration every fortnight
Real software, in your environment, for the people paying for it.
Live progress against agreed KPIs
The measures agreed before work started, updated as the work happens, open to you at any time.
Change priced in writing
Any change to scope, dates or budget is written up with its impact on all three before it is agreed.
Best forEvery build, integration, migration or AI system. Embedded when you have an internal team to work alongside; in-house when you would rather hand the work over and see it at the demo.
Hosting on Hexploits Cloud
- Term
- Rolling, 30 days’ notice
- From
- A fixed monthly figure, typically 10–30% below the equivalent hyperscaler billTBC
The same workloads you run on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud today, on reserved capacity in the EU for a fixed monthly figure that typically comes in 10–30% below the hyperscaler bill. We handle the migration, your data stays in the EU, and the number on the invoice is the number you agreed.
What you get
A fixed monthly figure
Reserved capacity priced per month, not per request, so the bill stops moving.
EU data residency
Hosted in the EU on capacity we control, with subprocessors listed on the trust page.
Migration included
Planned, rehearsed and reversible. Your existing cloud account stays live until the cutover is proven.
Best forEstablished systems with a predictable load and a cloud bill that has become a line the finance director asks about. Also for data that has to stay in the EU.
Deployment and monitoring
- Term
- Rolling, 30 days’ notice
- From
- From £1,200 per month, including 2 incident hours; £90 per engineer per hour after thatTBC
Someone to own a system that is already live: deployment pipelines, monitoring, patching, backups, on-call and support, on a monthly contract with response times in writing. The monthly figure includes two hours of incident work; anything beyond that is billed per engineer per hour. Runs on your existing stack or on Hexploits Cloud.
Where it runs
Your existing stack
AWS, Azure or Google Cloud, in your own account, alongside whatever you already run.
Hexploits Cloud
Our reserved capacity in the EU, with hosting on the same invoice.
Handed to your team
Full documentation, runbooks and a recorded walkthrough, then our access is removed.
How you reach us
A client incident portal
Report issues, bugs or security concerns; they go straight to the engineering team and are triaged first.
Response times in writing
Tiered response and resolution targets in the service schedule, reported against every month.
Changes as code, with a name and a time
Every change to your environment goes through CI/CD and is attributable. Nobody has direct access unless you grant it.
Best forAnything in production that matters, where you would rather one contract covered deployment, support and small changes. Most clients choose it after a build; none are obliged to.
Fractional CTO
- Term
- 6 months minimum
- From
- From £1,400 per dayTBC
A senior technology leader for a set number of days a month, accountable to your board: supplier management, architecture decisions, hiring, security and budget.
Best forBusinesses that need senior technology judgement at board level without the cost of a full-time CTO.
Starting rates
Where each service starts. The fixed figure or capped estimate comes with the written proposal.
| Service | Basis | Starting rate | Minimum term | Notice |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Discovery and assessment | Fixed price | From £4,000, fixed price for the agreed scopeTBC | 2–4 weeks | Ends at acceptance |
| Delivery and iteration | Day rate, per engineer, or fixed price | From £480 per engineer per day on a retainer, or a fixed price per phaseTBC | Monthly retainer on 30 days’ notice, or fixed price per phase | 30 days, or at acceptance |
| Hosting on Hexploits Cloud | Monthly | A fixed monthly figure, typically 10–30% below the equivalent hyperscaler billTBC | Rolling, 30 days’ notice | 30 days |
| Deployment and monitoring | Monthly | From £1,200 per month, including 2 incident hours; £90 per engineer per hour after thatTBC | Rolling, 30 days’ notice | 30 days |
| Fractional CTO | Day rate | From £1,400 per dayTBC | 6 months minimum | 30 days |
Every figure is a starting rate. Delivery is paid one of two ways: a monthly retainer, where day rates are per engineer and rise with the seniority and specialism the work needs, or a fixed price per phase against a defined scope. The proposal names the people and their rates. Fractional CTO is billed per day. Hosting on Hexploits Cloud is a fixed monthly figure for reserved capacity, agreed after a short look at what you run today and fixed for the term. Deployment and monitoring is a fixed monthly figure that includes two hours of incident work a month, with further incident work billed per engineer per hour. Cloud costs are passed through at cost with no margin when you are on your own account; on Hexploits Cloud they are the hosting figure.
Invoicing is monthly in arrears on rolling contracts and on milestones for fixed-price work, with 30-day terms. All figures exclude VAT.
Questions buyers ask
Do we have to start with discovery?
Why publish rates at all?
What is the difference between hosting and deployment and monitoring?
How much cheaper is Hexploits Cloud than AWS, Azure or Google Cloud?
Embedded or in-house: which should we choose?
Do we have to use Hexploits Cloud?
Do you work on fixed price?
Can we combine services?
